1. Summary
An extract from an internal methodological dispute that rejects pharmacological and coercive interventions as proof of memetic causation.
2. Text
Extract from an internal methodological dispute.
"The introduction of pharmacological or coercive interventions invalidates any claim of exclusively memetic causation.
If a subject's convictions change after chemical intervention, induced trauma, or physical coercion, what precisely have we demonstrated?
We may have demonstrated behavioral conditioning, neurochemical alteration, or the collapse of psychological resistance.
We have not necessarily demonstrated memetic engineering.
Our colleagues appear increasingly willing to sacrifice conceptual precision in the pursuit of observable results."
3. Context
The dispute is the one between the department's two competing methodological schools, the Memetic Purists and the Memetic Integrationists, whose positions are described with the phenomenon.
The D6 story presents Documents A to M as narrative reference drafts intended to preserve the philosophical discussions, scientific disputes, and discoveries encountered throughout D6.
