1. Summary
An emergency scientific assessment of 1999 that finds the hazard can be acquired through theoretical investigation alone.
2. Text
Emergency scientific assessment, 1999.
"The evidence now suggests that exposure is not limited to direct interaction with the artifact.
An individual may reconstruct the hazardous qualitative state through theoretical investigation alone.
We have identified multiple cases in which researchers appear to have acquired the condition while studying otherwise filtered experimental records.
The distinction between a safe observer and a contaminated subject can no longer be reliably established.
Continued unrestricted scientific communication presents an unacceptable containment risk."
3. Context
The assessment records the 1999 memetic breach, which is described with the phenomenon.
By the time multiple independent contamination clusters had been identified, conventional quarantine procedures were no longer sufficient.
The D6 story presents Documents A to M as narrative reference drafts intended to preserve the philosophical discussions, scientific disputes, and discoveries encountered throughout D6.
4. Gameplay
The D6 documents may be distributed among personal quarters, scientific offices, restricted archives, computer terminals, and the deeper containment installations.
