1. Summary
A private letter Friedrich never sent: a confession of his loss of ordinary emotional experience, which shows the separation between his intact intellectual judgment and his deteriorating emotional life.
2. Text
PERSONAL LETTER — UNSENT
Its central idea must be preserved:
"I know that what we are doing is wrong. I can still explain why it is wrong. But knowing and feeling have become two entirely different things."
Its philosophical closing also remains a reference:
"It is all 'pataphysical.
Schopenhauer's irrationalism was right all along."
The previously developed full draft is not in this project. See: Canon › Open Questions.
3. Context
An additional private letter reveals Friedrich's awareness of his transformation.
Its narrative function is different from the mission instructions.
It is a confession concerning his loss of ordinary emotional experience.
The previously developed "PERSONAL LETTER — UNSENT" remains an important reference draft for the game's writing.
The letter should communicate the disturbing separation between intact intellectual judgment and deteriorating emotional significance.
This document should not be replaced with a simplified declaration that Friedrich became insane.
It demonstrates his awareness, intellectual continuity, and despair.
4. Gameplay
Where the player finds the letter is not defined.
