1.1 Constraints
- Keep the story and its history distinct from factual assertions about real Indigenous cultures and historical events. The game's fictional interpretations are not historical explanations.
- Present real concepts such as Dawkins's cultural “meme” and Nick Bostrom's information hazards as conceptual influences, while distinguishing them from the supernatural mechanism in the story.
- Validate any direct quotations from copyrighted books and acquire rights when appropriate. Similarly check rights for historical photographs, videos, and other found media.
- Avoid arbitrary level locks, weapon placement, combat encounters and exposition dumps. The player should learn through exploration and meaningful interaction.
- Seven levels describe physical depth, not seven locked sequential episodes; D7 is never entered.
- Keep the secret open to the player's interpretation. Documents must not establish a definitive explanation of the Skull Helmet, consciousness or the afterlife. See: Campaign › Final Chapter.
