1. Summary
The distress messages and other transmissions from the final days of Schwarzwald's operation, preserved in an abandoned communications room of D2.
2. Text
The recovered material includes military communications, requests for assistance, technical reports, emergency instructions, and desperate messages from personnel trapped within the facility.
The player may discover numerous distress messages describing an increasingly desperate situation.
Personnel request evacuation, report missing colleagues, and struggle to communicate what they have encountered.
Some recordings contain shouting, interrupted transmissions, conflicting instructions, or sudden silence.
3. Context
The abandoned communications room contains records from the final days of Schwarzwald's operation. Some recordings were preserved despite the evacuation. Many of the recordings were made during the 1999 catastrophe.
These recordings should build a sense of progressive institutional collapse.
They may establish that the disaster spread through sections of the underground facility, but they must not fully explain its cause at this stage.
Among the recovered transmissions is the message of a researcher who isolated himself in D6.
4. Gameplay
The recordings are found in the D2 Communications and Recording Department during Side Quest Three, The Silent Frequency, of Chapter Five. How the player recovers them, and how they can help to find the maintenance passage to D3, belong to the side quest.
